The ARS initiated the Solar Water Heater Project as a result of Azerbaijan’s government cutting off the gas supply lines from Armenia to Artsakh. Currently, solar water heaters are available and used in commercial establishments in Artsakh; however, the panels’ cost and installation costs have made it very challenging to adopt this limitless resource for residential use. The infrastructure of solar water heaters will relieve the citizens of Artsakh of the burden of using electricity to heat water.
PROJECT UPDATE: DEC 1, 2022 – 101 homes and 544 residents in Artsakh have been given Solar Water Heaters.
